Francesco Totti, the Italian football legend, and his wife, Ilary Blasi, a former showgirl and host, announced their separation in July and both pleaded for confidentiality as they dealt with the matter. But over the past few weeks, things have gotten hot and heavy for the two in the tabloids.
Totti and Blasi tied the knot in 2005 in a TV event with proceeds going to charity.
Now the glamorous couple are set to face off in a Rome courtroom for a second hearing over missing items Totti allegedly hid from Blasi in the home they still share, according to the New York Times.
Blasi allegedly at one point took six of the Rolex watches Totti owned, and the former soccer star responded by hiding his wife’s luxury shoe collection, which included brands like Jimmy Choo, Amina Muaddi and Gucci as well as expensive handbags Dior, Hermes.
Totti admitted hiding the merchandise in an interview with Italy’s Corriere della Sera and admitted his infidelity, but he also claimed that Blasi also cheated. He claimed that Blasi was not there for him when his father died of COVID-19 in 2020, and that he suffered from the disease himself.
“What was I supposed to do? I hid the bags, hoping for an exchange,” he told the newspaper.
Divorce proceedings are expected to get worse.
Totti played for Italian side Seris A Roma from 1993 to 2017, scoring 250 goals in 619 appearances. He also helped Italy to world Cup title in 2006.
Blasi hosted Le Iene in seasons 11-22 and was a contestant for Miss Italia in 1998.
Since then, Totti and Blasi have been spotted on dates and likely added to the animosity.
