Raise the Roofs Announces Sold-Out Sale; silent auction still in progress | Local News

Friends of Franklin Parks invited the community to join in “building the dream together,” and they responded — the 11th annual Raise the Roofs fundraiser, to be held at the park at Harlinsdale Farm on Saturday, sold out in record time.

Organizers, sponsors, volunteers and table hosts are all focused on raising funds to build Ellie G’s Dream World, Franklin’s first inclusive playground.

Presented by Wesley Mortgage, over 60 key community partners are committed to making Raise the Roofs a success. And while the main event is now sold out, anyone can help support the nonprofit’s mission to connect and improve Franklin’s parks system. A amazing silent auction featuring dozens of items is live online, and anyone can bid electronically up until the event.

A Friday night polo match at the Tractor Supply Co. Arena will give the public another chance to get involved. The United States and Mexico will face off in what is known as “horse hockey,” hosted by the Franklin Polo Academy.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the ball drops for the main game at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and concessions will be available on site, with proceeds going to Friends of Franklin Parks.

“There has never been a more impactful cause, and it really reinforces our mission: a public-private partnership that makes dreams come true faster for the benefit of all,” said FOFP Executive Director Torrey. Barnhill. “The weekend of festivities gives us the opportunity not only to raise funds, but also to highlight all that has been accomplished. I hope everyone will join me in celebrating our Event Chairs – Judy Hayes, Mary Looney, Amy Cross Nance and Katie Spence – for the phenomenal job they have done.

Buzz Brainard, afternoon host of SiriusXM’s “The Highway and Music Row Happy Hour,” will return as emcee. After the event, local favorites The Deltaz will play the afterparty.

In addition to Wesley Mortgage as presenting sponsor, other key sponsors include Midnight Sun sponsors Jackie and Barry Alexander, Winner’s Circle sponsors Randy Jones and Associates and platinum level sponsor Jackson.

The cocktail will be presented by Morgan Stanley-The Parker McCoy Cernoch Group, and the afterparty will be presented by Tennessee Equine Hospital.
