Telford house boarded up with classic VW Bettle in the garden to be won for £36,000

A gated home has hit the market for a fraction of the cost of other homes in the area – but there’s a catch. In addition to the extensive work needed on the property, any prospective buyer will have to shell out the money in cash.

The three-bedroom semi-flat is on Farm Lodge Grove in Telford and will be auctioned with an indicative price of £36,000. Rooms inside the property are covered in dirt and clutter – including a bed on the side and what appears to be a moldy fridge.

The Shropshire house’s garden is overgrown and includes the surprise addition of a Volkswagen Bettle hull without the wheels. Anyone wishing to buy the house can do so via an online auction with the company Auction House which will take place on April 28.

An advert for the house on Rightmove reads: “A three bedroom semi-detached house with garage. The property is in very poor condition and will require extensive renovations.

“It is likely that a potential buyer will not be able to secure a mortgage and will therefore be a cash only purchase. Conveniently located for area amenities including school, convenience store and bus lines.”

They added: “Telford town center is also just minutes away, offering a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities, also has good access to the local main road network and M54 links.”
