STATEN ISLAND, NY — After two long and socially distant years, On Your Mark is gearing up for its spring gala on April 9 at the Hilton Garden Inn, a staple fundraiser for the organization for more than 30 years.
In 2021, On Your Mark hosted its first (and hopefully last) virtual Spring Gala, and while it was a great way to keep followers “in the know”, the in-person event is highly anticipated. by many to reconnect with families, friends and community members. More than 500 participants are expected.
On Your Mark’s mission is to provide innovative and comprehensive community services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) throughout their lives and to help individuals enjoy the highest quality of life.
“The Spring Gala is an evening to showcase all that we do and celebrate the accomplishments of our individuals, our supporters and the organization,” said Jessica Caracciolo, Director of Development for OYM. “The evening will be filled with dinner, dancing, raffles and a live auction hosted by special guest of On Your Mark, actor and writer, Anthony Wilkinson, Executive/Artistic Director of Avenel Arts Center.”
The Spring Gala has been an exceptional celebration for On Your Marks for over 20 years. In 2019, OYM welcomed just over 600 guests and for 2022, the evening promises an elaborate cocktail, with guests circulating from room to room. Light piano music will be performed by Vincent Innocente. Exceptional basket raffles and live auction items will be on display before guests are seated for dinner and the program.
On Your Mark winners exemplify and demonstrate the On Your Mark mission every day. Paula Delfino, current Chair of the On your Mark Board of Directors, will be recognized for her unparalleled dedication to the organization, as well as to the I/DD community at large.
His daughters, Jackie and Catherine, currently reside at On Your Mark group homes. Paula is an integral part of On Your Mark and they couldn’t be more grateful for all the support she has given the organization over the years.
