The American Legion Post 16, its auxiliary, other military organizations and volunteers will be offering meals on wheels this Christmas as the William N. Pennington Life Center will be closed.
Sailors, current and retired military, and community members wishing to deliver meals or prepare meals for delivery should arrive at the venue, 90 N. Ada St., between 8:30 am and 9 am.
Once the volunteers arrive in the room, they will pack the food in containers and then travel through various routes within the city and county limits to deliver hot meals to the elderly in the area. The American Legion is normally looking for around 30 volunteers to help with preparation and / or delivery.
