Ch. 11 auction buys $ 152 million for the Wardman Park hotel

Law360 (July 22, 2021, 6:39 p.m. EDT) – A Delaware bankruptcy judge on Thursday tentatively approved a $ 152.25 million sale of the more than 100-year-old Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel after an epic auction of the chapter 11 on the site.

Laura Davis Jones of Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP, who led Tuesday’s auction, said the auction lasted 129 rounds and 12 and a half hours before a winner was declared, with a back-up bidder offering $ 152 million for the 1,152-room site in Northwest Washington.
