Abraham Lincoln Waters, 59, formerly of Lawrence, Kansas, died on May 8, 2021 at his home in Reno, NV. Private funeral services have been held at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, OK., Where Abe will be buried.
Abe is survived by his father, Earl Waters, of Ada, OK. Abe was predeceased by his two brothers, Joshua Wayne Waters and Jacob York Waters, and his mother Dee Anne Waters.
Abe graduated from Lawrence KS High School in 1880 and attended the University of Kansas for a few years. Then he moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he worked for an insurance company and later for a bank, working with a large mainframe running night reports, etc. He bought a house in KC and lived there for about 10 years.
He then moved to Fort. Lauderdale, Florida, and worked for a large holding company that insured yachts and other large pleasure craft. Abe loved the job very much, but after being with them for 10 years he fell seriously ill and had to spend eight weeks in Broward County Hospital. It was then that Abe decided to return to Lawrence and live with his mother and father for a while. In 2012, he was offered a job at a car auction company in Reno, NV. Abe therefore returned to Reno, but after three years, the company decided to move all of its servers to Dallas. Abe then took his last job in Reno at the El Dorado resorts. In all of his jobs, Abe did some type of computer work.
Abe had been in poor health for two years. He suffered from diabetes, hypertension and arthritis. In his last days, he had to use crutches and a walker to get around.
Abe will be remembered by many for her sense of humor.
